Have you always wanted to learn upholstery but fancy yourself a more hands on learner? My In-Person and Virtual Upholstery Workshops are a perfect way to navigate the furniture upholstery process at your own pace.
Join me at Maker Works in Ann Arbor, Michigan or via Zoom from your own home or workshop, as I guide you through the basic fundamentals of furniture upholstery and restoration. Each 3 hour small piece upholstery workshop allows you to bring in your own project to class for personalized instruction and hands-on support as you learn to deconstruct, repair, and re-upholster your own small piece of furniture.
All of my classes are open to in-person and Zoom participants, meaning you can attend in person, or from home over Zoom. You'll learn everything you need to know about how to restore your own project, but you will also be there to watch me break down skills on everyone else's project as well! You will quickly learn all types of skills that are transferrable to your future projects! All of my Zoom sessions are recorded so that you can reference them later on.

Absolutely NO EXPERIENCE needed to begin your first project, I will walk you through every step of the way. All of my students are encouraged to work at your own pace, so it is important to note that you WILL NOT finish a complicated piece in just one class. You will likely need multiple, however, here is a list of projects you could potentially complete in a 3 hour session:
- Dining chair seats
- Sewing a box cushion
- Button tufted headboard or bulletin board
- Small ottoman or footstool
- Floor cushion
- Throw pillows
What types of furniture should you bring?
- 1 person seating like accent chairs, wingback chairs, and dining seats
- Ottomans
- Footstools
- Headboards
- In-person classes limited to anything that fits in a 48" x 48" square standing space. (You can work on anything you want over Zoom!)
What to know in advance...
- There are NO RETURNS on classes, but you may re-schedule to a different date if something comes up.
- Cancelations must be 72 hours in advance of your class to be re-scheduled. I need time to be able to sell and fill your seat.
- I can not host a class with less than 3 participants. If a class fails to fill enough seats, it will be canceled and rescheduled for a later date.
